I tried googling this and couldn’t find any answers, so I decided to ask the ever helpful WB community.
I have an Ameda Purely Yours double electric breastpump and I was just trying to figure out if there are any spare parts that I should keep on hand? My baby hasn’t been born yet and I’m not planning to exclusively pump, but I am planning to pump for donation to the milk bank for babies in need. I know that if my pump stops working, then I’m going to be engorged and in a lot of pain and the extra milk wouldn’t be milk that my baby would be able to consume since it will be on top of baby’s regular intake. So I was wondering if there’s anything that wears out quickly on a breast pump that I should be prepared with replacements for? Is there a general rule to follow such as “after X hours of pumping, X part should be replaced”?
Also, is there a way of checking what flange size I should have before using my pump? The parts are all sealed in a sterile bag and I don’t want to take them out before the baby is born.
