My Fiance and I aren’t wine drinkers. He can’t stand the stuff and I only like the ones that don’t really taste like wine. Because ofthis we have decided that instead of putting wine on the tables we wanted to do something that was more “us” and decided that a nice punch would work.
I would prefer vodka or rum in it, but really as long as it tastes good I can’t see a problem. Anyone have a good recipe out there for one? Also, if it taste just as good without the alcohol too…. we are having a few kids and some guests just don’t drink and we want them to feel like they aren’t left out with toasting and stuff.

What about something like sangria?
My worry with a vodka or rum punch is it’s very hard as a guest to keep track of how much you are drinking because it’s hard to know what is in the punch.
You could also do something like lemonade and sweet tea vodka (like an arnold palmer but alcoholic).

My bakery/catering friend told me that something cheap and that is like champagne is mixing ginger ale and white grape juice

You could do fuzzy navels which are peach schnapps, OJ, and vodka.
You could do lemonade and vodka.
Fruit punch, vodka, and sprite are another cheap easy mix.

I have done this one at showers before and its pretty simple. Lemonade (just the frozen kind in the can) add frozen strawberrys, and vodka. As the strawberrys thaw it turns a nice shade of pink and adds all the extra strawberry flavor. I have also done this with OJ and and actually made OJ icecubes so as it melted it didn’t water down.
Just don’t send a non-drinker to the store for the vodka. She came home with 100 proof (oops) so I had to cut back on the amount and warn people!

Go with regular sherbet punch which most everyone loves. Scoop sherbet (1/3 or 1/2 carton is plenty) and pour 7up over the top to fill the punchbowl.
I personally have never had alcoholic punch of any kind so I dont have any to recommend. But if you choose to have alcoholic and virgin options, make sure that each one is very clearly labled as to which is which.

I found this recipe online and made it for my friends bachelorette party a few weeks ago and it was a huge hit!! The origional recipe doesn’t call for alcohol. I included the link to the origional recipe and then my alcoholic version as well. It is really good! And you can make it the night before and it works out great!! Even if you don’t use it for your wedding, you should try it. It’s delish lol!!
Luscious Slush Punch
1 1/2 cups white sugar
6 cups water
3 (3 ounce) packages strawberry flavored gelatin mix
1 (46 fluid ounce) can pineapple juice
2/3 cup lemon juice (artifical works fine)
1 quart orange juice
2 (2 liter) bottles lemon-lime flavored carbonated beverage
- Bring the sugar, water, and strawberry flavored gelatin to a boil in a large saucepan; boil for 3 minutes. Stir in the pineapple juice, lemon juice, and orange juice, vodka. Divide mixture into 2 separate containers and freeze. (Gallon size Ziploc bags work great)
- Combine the contents of 1 container with 1 bottle of the lemon-lime flavored carbonated beverage in a punch bowl; stir until slushy. Repeat with remaining portions as needed
Here is the origional site. I doctored up the recipe to add Vodka and make more. This recipe made 3 gallon Ziploc bags full of the slush mix. Also, it was pretty sweet with the fruit juices, the 2 1/2 cups of sugar would have been WAY too much sugar.
