Hi bees. I’m not really “plannning” yet per se but I’d like to get thoughts and inspiration on something I had in mind. My fiance’s favorite color is green, specifically hunter or dark green. My favorite color is purple, like a deeper, rich purple with a red undertone instead of blue. As long as we’ve been dating these have been our colors, so I’m wondering how a wedding would look with that theme?
It won’t be a big wedding, nor an extemely detailed or fancy one. We want something simple and outdoors. He has a lot of family but will most likely only invite the ones that he’s closer to and live nearby. I only have my mom with me and will most likely invite family friends. Have any of you seen a theme like this? Any ideas?

@Mircat: i think that could work. you’ll want something bright in there to liven it up a little – like gold or silver.

Silver would work for both of us 🙂 So silver, purple, and green. Also, off topic but does there always have to be a best man, maid of honor, and person to walk the bride down the aisle? I literally have no family and no friends nearby at the moment. I’m really dreading that part of it.

I’ve seen LOTS of small weddings without wedding parties! I wouldn’t think that was bizarre at all!

@Mircat: Welcome to the Hive!
Are you aware of the site http://www.theperfectpalette.com ?
You can scroll down on the side, click on one of your favorite colors, and see all the palettes they have developed using that color.
Another site is design-seeds- is this anything like you were thinking?
You do not need to have a wedding party. Most states do require that you have one or two witnesses to sign the papers, (any of your adult guests can do that for you), but many couples have a simple ceremony with no attendants.

I really rather not have a party, because I don’t like being the center of attention nor being around bunches of people. Fiance, however, does want at least a simple celebration because he has a lot of family. His mom and aunts usually plan and decorate their and other people’s parties, so we doubt it would be too difficult to put something nice together!
@Julies1949 I like the second picture. I’m most likely going with a vintage, more cream colored dress so maybe some more muted colors?
