Purple can totally work! Pair it with red and gold, it’ll look fantastic!

I wasn’t too fussed about the season when picking my colours buts I’m getting married in Autumn and my bridesmaids are in a deep plum/aubergine shade dress. I’m in champagne and the bouquets will be ivory, champagne and dusty pinks. For the reception I have champagne and plum fabric strips for the ceiling of the marquee, champagne table runners with pops of colour in the centrepieces (hoping for pnk and plum cyclamens) etc.

My flowers were supposed to be pink and orange, but they turned out to be more purple and orange. And my wedding was in Oct too.

Purple is a fine fall color.  Think the deep purple of wine grapes that are picked in the fall.

My husband bought me a grocery store bouquet this week that was purples and oranges and was gorgeous! I immediately thought “these could be wedding flowers”. It was purple alstromeria and stock, and alstromeria and mums/asters (or something similar) in golds and oranges. Wish I had a picture! Purples can do in so many directions – as others have mentioned, with reds, or silvers, or navy blue, or sage green… with the neutral colors of your ballroom you’ll have lots of choices!

I literally just went to my cousin’s wedding yesterday and her colors were gray and purple…it was beautiful! I think you most certainly can add purple to your colors!

@bondgirl982:  We’re having purple! Red, gold, orange and purple:

I think the purple really lifts the other colours and just adds that extra bit of interest. I’m trying to use quite bright colours though, because I’d like it to be super colourful.

i’m doing dark purple and hot pink. i hate that seasons dictate what colors you can use so i’m not following what are normal “fall” colors. i still think the autumn background will look great with my colors.

@bondgirl982:  I got married the first week of fall, and didn’t really think too much about traditional autumn colours when choosing mine. I used purple, green and white, and got tons of compliments!!
