Hi wendal I'm in the same boat. I am looking for purple dresses too! I can't seem to find the right style to fit our wedding.
My BM dresses are Victorian Lilac from House of Wu. Also check out Bari Jay and even David's Bridal. They all have a wide selection of styles and ranges of purple
I actually bought really cute ones from a site called WINDSOR. They are typically special occasion dresses but it totally worked for bridesmaid dresses. I adore them! 60.00 dollars each!
Have you tried Nordstrom? We got our purple BM dresses there at a reasonable price.
i think im using davids bridal in LAPIS ( a deep purple) color...there are tons of different styles and it is very affordable!
Dessy.com has some from Alfred Sung in Majestic. They are my fav!
I'm having 6 Bms and i picked this style (but in two different color, purple(Lapis) and hot pink (watermelon). I would suggest dessy.com... I'm going with style 6574. They have a huge variety of purple colors - I opted for concord which is much like the lapis color from David's Bridal. The style I chose was $130 through Amica Bride in South Carolina - locally I got a quote for $180... so you can find great deals online with different stores. Good luck... but definitely check out the variety of colors at dessy.com.

I actually ended up getting ours from Impressions Bridal. They have gorgeous puples and the prices were pretty reasonable!
Here are mine but you'll have to use your imagination on the purple! It is the one of the left. 
If you're looking for a dress under 40 pounds (wouldn't that be around $80 American dollars?) I would focus on shopping thru a department store website, such as Nordstrom's (as mentioned above). I don't know the big retail stores in Europe. You could also try Macy's.
This one is on sale right now for $81 at Nordstroms. It's pretty cute.
My BM's dresses are also purple!! I went with Mori Lee style #831. It looks a little bluish online, but it's a great purple in person!! Good luck :]

The rest of the girls will be wearing the colour (Purple Rose) but picking their own style that best suits them :)
I am very happy with the colour -I thought we'd go a little lighter in colour for the July wedding, but it seems to just look the best and hopefully get a higher chance of being worn again :p

I'm struggling to find any nice purple bridesmaid dresses, i have 6 adult bridesmaids all shapes and sizes, I would like them to wear all the same but Cant seem to find any at a reasonable price (ie under £40ideally)
