try dessy.com that is where my BM are getting theirs from its a one shoulder one and i love love love the fabric also the purple is called african violet its sooo gorgeous!
I am doing purple bridesmaid dresses and we are ordering them off netbride.com (they are 40% cheaper then if I order through a bridal store). My bridesmaid and me decided that we loved the styles offered by Alfred Sung this season and fortunately all of thier dress comes in the purple I wanted. They are a little satiny but both my girls say they will wear the dresses again. Check out Dessy.com might help you get some ideas.
These are the two dresses my BM are going to wear
My girls are wearing Mori Lee #831. I love them. They're different, flowy and something that they can definitely wear again! I would buy it for myself to wear :]
We're having purple bridesmaids too from Dessy. They have a lot of nice purples and a big variety of dresses.
We're going to be ordering them from Joielle (www.shopjoielle.com) which advertises on weddingbee.
Thanks for the suggestions!
@misschocolate - Are those MoriLee dresses one strap or two? I can't tell with the model's hair over her shoulder in the picture i found?
My bridesmaids are wearing this purple Dessy After Six dress. I ordered them through Netbride.com.
We're doing Dessy too, but the Lela Rose Collection in Smashing #124 & 125 (I think).
Thank you! I'm trying to going for a vintage-garden look and found this dress on another bee's post and loved it! The dress is anthropologie but the post is over a year old and I dont' think it is for sale anymore on their website. Just getting frustrated that I'm not finding what I am picturing in my head.
Thank you for the posts though - they are definitely helping!
My girls are wearing eggplant color from lazaro.. they look so great when I saw them in person I love them more. they are wearing different styles.
Not sure if this helps but this is ours. Our color is not as purple as this one here though..it's a bit more plum. The color is actually called plum...its by Melissa Sweet. She has great dresses.

Emilybee, I have that dress from Anthropologie! It's a great dress, though it's wool so it's actually a little warm (I wore it to a friend's wedding over the holidays in 20 degree weather and was fine). I would try calling Anthropologie and see if they have any left.
Otherwise, two of my ladies are wearing J.Crew silk chiffon dresses in sweet thistle and they LOVE them, I don't know if the shade would be too light for you?
Also, bluefly.com has an option for searching for bridesmaid's dresses by color, sometimes they have some great purple dresses on there.

Hi all - I'm having trouble with bridesmaid dresses. I'm looking for purple bridesmaid dresses and I don't think I'm being too picky. I am trying to either find the dresses on the internet or on the shelf in stores. I'm trying to stay away from the "typical" satin bridesmaid dresses and looking for something that could actually be worn again. I know every bride says that the dresses could be work again, but I'm really trying to find some cute dresses. I don't think I'm asking too much, purple, short (knee-ish length), and not strapless. Any help out there?? I've looked at Nordstroms and other sites online, but unfortunately we don't have tons of stores in Central Iowa.
Any help would be greatly appreciated!
