you sound like me 6 months ago! Our colors are grey and dark purple and I didn't know which one I wanted for the BM dress.
I ended up going for the purple dress but I kind of regret it. I love the look of a grey dress with dark purple flowers. I think that would look absolutely beautiful. I say gray!

Ohhh we have similar colors! Personally, I really love the look of gray dresses, but when I brought it up to my girls they ALL vetoed it. :( They said it would look too depressing if they were wearing gray. Pffff, what do they know? Anyways, since they all said they disliked it, we're going with purple. I do love gray dresses though... PP is right, it looks so pretty with the pop of purple flowers!
I'm going for a similar color palette too! I love both of those dresses, but I think I want to figure out a way to bring in lighter colored dresses - champagne. And have my MOH wear a dark purple and my younger sister Mauve...idk still trying to put it all together! I'd love to see ya'll's inspiration boards!
I have the same colors too! I decided on grey dresses and I am having them wear dark purple pashminas and have purple flowers. I just thought the grey would be more timeless looking.
Wow thankyou guys for all your awesome comments.... it is such a hard decision but its good to know when others are or have been in the same place as me... MsLotus i will try put up inspration board so you can check it out.... yes i loved the champane colour 2 :) that was my first choice i made and have changed 2 times already ha ha

I think the purple is more universally flattering than the gray. Gray can easily wash somebody out if it's not the right shade for them.
I personally love grey. :)
Our colors are charcoal grey and pink. Don't tell your BM's they will wear their dress again but the chances of them wearing a neutral again over a color is pretty high.

Definitely gray! A few weekends ago I was a bridesmaid at my friends wedding and we wore gray dresses. It made everything else pop, color wise. Our shoes and bouquets. I was pleasently surprised.
baletrina Your dress is stunning!! It is such a hard decision you will find a purple one you like then you will see a gray one you like ha ha.
The only thing i was worried about having the gray is.... will it look ok at the beach? we are going to do our reception on the beach???
I love the grey! and love the idea of having the purple be present in the flowers and/or shoes.
I prefer the grey dresses because everyone I know has had a purple wedding lately. Purple is gorgeous, but I have yet to see bridesmaids in real life wearing grey and I think it would be a refreshing change and a colour that you won't look back on and wonder why on earth you picked it lol. And it's soo easy to match things to!
@MidnightSun:Agreed, gray is a hard color to pull off for certain skin tones.
I had a similar issue with champagne and pink. I opted for pink because like purple it is more flattering on a wider number of people.
Couldn't you do gray shoes to tie it in?

I know this thread is old . . but I am doing the same colors can't decide which color BM dress to choose. . . ideally i would like a purple-gray! Haha! I'm also very indecisive. . .

Hi, I am having trouble choosing bridesmaid colours, my wedding colours are black white purple silver & gray..... should i go gray or purple both colours have advantages & disadvantages...... im so stuck :
