I’ve been looking for the perfect pair of shes for a while now and my cousin suggested getting a pair with a pop of colour rather than the traditional colours. I thought it was brilliant idea and I decided on a purple since its one of my colours.
MY dress is ivory with pearl and rhinestone detail slim fit with a flared mermaids tail at the bottom. It is very elegant and I want to keep with the theme.
My original idea was to have an ivory or champagne pair decorated with pearls etc since it fits with the theme, then I thought maybe a purple pair with some decor would also look amazing.
The problem is that my sister (MOH) and mother are so traditioanl they hate everything that is not white/ivory/champagne. Me on the other hand LOVE colour and while I do not want to look garish I like the idea of coloured shoes if done right. So I’m finding it very hard to decide and fall in love with any pair.Any thoughts or perhaps ideas which would work? thank you!
this is a pic of something I had in mind when I say colour and decor:

@Shlendie: I think those look lovely! I was planning on wearing coloured shoes too, and whilst my mum is unsure of the idea I’m certain she’ll come around (and if not, she’ll barely see my feet on the day anyway!)

I love them! I desperately wanted blue shoes, but couldn’t find any I liked!

@Shlendie: This is your wedding, not your Mom’s or your sister’s. It really doesn’t matter if they don’t like your shoes. We do!

I LOVED having colored shoes! Looked SO fantastic in the photos where there’s a pop of color showing. Like Julies1949 said- your day, your way.

@Shlendie: I had colored shoes too & loved it! I wanted purple as well but couldn’t find the perfect pair so I got my other color- blue- with a purple shoe clip from etsy… I love a little color and for me personalyl dressing in all white is about as boring as dressing in all black- looks great on some people but just not my style at all!

@Shlendie: That shoe would look g-o-r-geous! If I wasn’t wearing cowboy boots with mine, I would be opting for pink beauties in that same type of style.
If your mom is having a bit of a problem with them though, what about a slightly darker shade? A trick I use sometimes is to show her 3 options – one that is outrageous, one that is classy and pretty (like the one in the picture) and a very boring slightly ugly one. Ask her to pick which one she likes of the 3, then she will feel like she had a say

I didn’t wear purple shoes, but my wedding colors were dark purple/plum and ivory.
