Just want to remind brides to be and their family and friends to make sure you know how much postage your invitations for your showers and wedding will take.  I received a bridal shower invitation for my cousin yesterday and it had postage due on the envelope!!  20 cents isn't a big deal, but this just made me want to remind everyone to check the weight and sizes of their invitations before sending them out!!  Some guests might not appreciate having to pay for their invitation:)

I haven't heard of this - so they still delivered the envelope and you had to pay?  Who did you pay or did you have to pick it up at the post office?  I am confused!

How strange I have never heard that they will deliver them if there is not enough postage!

I have a scale at home for my yarn so i used that to make sure I could use regular stamps :)

Sometimes they won't deliver the mail and just put a note saying you have to go to Post office and pay before you receive it, other times they go ahead and deliver and put an envelope with it for you to put your money in and then you put it back in mail box for the carrier to pick up.

Weird! Ive never heard of that - for us they just send them back to sender. We had a few invitations that I literally forgot to put stamps on! They came right back to me!

Also, dont forget that the rates go up again in Jan, so if your pre-stamped RSVPs are coming back after that, you have to adjust the stamp accordingly!

Yes, I've had to pay to receive letters before. And it was a HASSLE to go to the post office! (they aren't open when I get home from work and I hate trying to make it there before noon on Saturdays- ugh!)

I had that happen to me, I had to go to the post office and pay an additional 60 cents.
