Depends on how expensive the puzzle is :) Most I've seen have been well into the hundreds and to me, that's wayyyyy too much to drop on a guest book puzzle that I'm not entirely sure what to do with after the fact.
I'm going with a thumbprint tree so maybe I'm already biased. That's what I'd vote for :)
It depends on the cost, but if cost was the same, I voted for the puzzle. I've seen the fingerpint tree a zillion times, the puzzle is new~
Puzzle! I really wanted to do one but they were sooo expensive.
I've never seen the puzzle so that's why I voted for it! It would be great to glue together and frame afterward. The fingerprint tree thing isn't anything unique.
I definately voted for the puzzle, if it's the same price then do it for sure. That's what we are doing but we are actually doing it ourselves (I know, crazy idea), FI is actually excited about doing it.
The price for the Fingerprint is around $50. The guesbook $175 since we are having 60 guests.
Would the puzzle have enough pieces for each guest/couple? It seems like with a tree you can fit as many thumb prints as you need, but with a puzzle it might be easier to run out of room.
I was thinking about doing a puzzle but found them very expensive. That being said, if you can afford it/it's in your budget I think it's much less done than the fingerprint tree. And I like it more too :)
@Goodatlove: The puzzle comes in many sizes, from 50 to 150 pieces.
@Ms.BlueEyes: So, like, what do you do with the puzzle? Put the pieces together and...? Frame it? I'm just confused about the intent. I do think they're awesome though.
What do you guys think of this idea? Found it on etsy and am still debating. The guests are supposed to sign a heart and can write a small note in them. It's a totally new idea and I can see us hanging it on our wall afterwards as it looks gorgeous. I think the cost is pretty in between the trees but it comes with a frame so that is a plus.
I'm debating between this or a puzzle but my friend did it for her wedding and she is having a hard time finding a frame for it...

@chamomilebride: I really like the look of it, but those hearts look teenie tiny... like i'd be lucky to be able to fit my initials on, let alone my name and a message. I also love the puzzle, but if it's pricey, and hard to find a frame, maybe it's not so cool. I may be biased, though, since we did the fingerprint tree! My husband drew the tree, and I put it in a standard frame I bought from michael's on sale w/ a coupon. :)
hmm ok. the hearts do seem small but with a fine tipped pen it seems like it would be bigger than a thumb or fingerprint. i'm leaning towards the hearts bc i'll be able to change the color of the background and the accent heart to fit my wedding colors. thanks for the feedback guys! here's another picture of it but with the hearts filled and signatures definitely fit!
@ms.blueeyes the seller has a small size for around the same cost as the tree if you are interested! =)

@chamomilebride: they definitely look a little bigger in this pic! it's cool you get the frame, too. do you have to glue the hearts on yourself after, or do the guests sign them when they're already attatched to the backing/frame? if you have to glue them on yourself, it may be worth it to DIY the whole thing, since you'd be doing most of the work anyway.
Love the puzzles. If it was within my budget I totally would have ordered one. Plus, if you don't want to display it, it will be super easy to store.
@simplifiedbride: nope the guestbook comes with the hearts already attached (and i believe you can pick either 100,121,144,156 hearts) and there is an instruction card and two pens included as well. all you would need to do is remove the glass and rearrange the hearts so the guests can sign on the day of the wedding. this is the etsy listing:

So i'm in love with these two etsy designers. Its between a guestbook puzzle tree or a fingerprint. Which would you choose?
How do you go about setting up the table for a fingerprint tree, since people have to clean their hands afterwards and do you need to provide instructions?
