I think we have the same exact hair! Mine is also fine, thin, and that exact color naturally :) I am currently growing mine out for the wedding, but when it is over, I plan on getting another Bumble & bumble razor bob, and dying it blonde again. The razor bob is usually just below chin length, so it doesn't mke your face look rounder - it just shows off a slim neck. It is fun and you'll find that your hair has much more body when you just wash it and go at that length (I know I never once blew it dry myself lol). I'm going to see if I have a picture of it.
And I also have a nose, and I have to say that your profile is cute! Don't let that hinder you from trying something you want :)
@sarahbabs: Hmm.. I'll have to look at some images of razor bobs. I would love to see photos of yours! I had an above-the-chin flipped-out style before that was really cute, but it emphasized the roundness of my face and made me look too young. Thanks for the suggestion! I wouldn't mind a shorter cut right now... I'm so sick of blow-drying it in the morning.
Aw, thank you for your comment and encouragement about my profile, too! :)
Bunting, we have the same hair! I have kind of a round face and when I did a chop last year (when my split ends had split ends) I asked my hair dresser what I should do, and let her have at it. I ended up with a really cute lightly layered bob with side-swept bangs. I don't have a picture of it, but it was really cute.
My hair is super thin too and when I grew it out for my wedding it would drive me crazy because it was always flat! I did a classic a-line the week after our wedding and haven't looked back. Since it's shorter it doesn't weigh my hair down and I think that the way that the hair curls under around my chin makes my face look less round actually! Here's a before and after picture..

@honeymead: That is really cute! Thanks for finding a photo for me! :) I'm thinking I may have to go with swide-swept bangs, too. I just don't think I have enough hair to do otherwise!
@Running Elley: That's how mine is right now... flatflatflat. For some reason I was always afraid hair cut at the chin would somehow over-accentuate a round shape, but maybe that's just my mind trying to BS me, haha. I'm glad to hear it does the opposite for you! Thanks for sharing the photos, too! I'm hoping once I lose some of the weight from my length I'll regain some volume.
Okay, this is the blonde. This is not the best pic of the razor bob because I had an awful haircut that was upposed to be a trim just before this pic was taken, but its the only one with short hair I have access to right now. They have more pics under razor bob here: http://bbumodelproject.com/haircuts/
It is a more relaxed style, no flipping ends and pretty much no work required. There is a BB salon (Citrene) in GR too. I loved this cut and miss it now lol
@bunting:I was really worried about that too which is why I made sure that the longest layer in the front was below my chin..it was more like adam's apple length. The back is short, like above my lowest hair line, and stacked which definitely helps with the volume! My hairdresser said that the stacked a-line is probably the most flattering cut for people with thin hair and I definitely agree. It's super low maintenance too :) P.S. I think your nose is cute!
@sarahbabs: Thanks for the link and the photo! I love styles that are low maintenence... I always buy product and am all gung-ho about using it for the first week... and then I just get really lazy and do nothing other than dry & brush. I'm so bad.
@Running Elley: And now I'm even armed with the technical terms (stacked, a-line)! Thanks! :)
@Running Elley: i second this! this is my favorite hair style as well. my hair isn't as thin as your, but it is fine (there's just a lot of it), and the only way i get body is with short hair, and a round brush.
I work as a hair stylist, so I have people coming into the salon everyday with this trouble. In my opinion, I would cut it a few inches below your chin, that way it won't weight the hair down as much. I definitly think you could get away with bangs! Also, when you dry your hair, try to dry it with brushing your hair upwards (its hard to explain over the computer), and maybe try some teasing.. Also, I have spray that I use on my clients, its volumizing spray, I find it works really good, it's by rusk. Good Luck with whatever you choose!
@alyssa742: Thanks for your suggestions! I'm so glad hearing a hair stylist chime in, too. I do dry my roots with sections of it pulled upwards or with my head upside down, and those usually work but I think it's just too long and heavy right now.
I'm thinking I'm going to have it cut a bit longer than razor bob, probably around shoulder-length or just above, so I don't go into complete shock from a drastic change. If it were going into summer I'd take the plunge and do a razor bob, but seeing as how it's getting into hat weather... I'm not a fan of how I look with a hat hiding all of my hair.
I think you would look GREAT with shorter hair! Maybe a couple inches below your chin or maybe even to the tops of your shoulders, like some of the other bees have suggested.
I have the same hair. It's so thin. I have it long now and it's driving me nuts. It's so flat. The only thing I will say about the bang is because my hair is so thin, by the end of the day it can look greasy. My best option was having it right at my shoulder. I also had a longer side swept bang so it worked with my hair down and with ponytails and what not. I had tons of layers cut in when it was shorter so that it looked like it had more volume. Here's a pic of it then

@mole: Thanks, Miss Mole! :D
@mwitter80: You and your hair are gorgeous in that photo! Wow, you really have fine hair, too? It looks so thick and lucious! I had the same problem with bangs beomcing stringy and/or oily last time too. I had even started washing them with water midday to get them looking fresh again.
Haha my hair looks like your hair! I've been growing mine really long for the wedding, but it looks really cute when I have it layered and cut shorter. It makes it a little thicker and has more life to it. You can see how thin my ponytail is right now too.
When it's cut shorter with layers :
@HeatherMM: Our hair does look the same! I bet we could be ponytail twins right now. Speaking of which, that ponytail looks great on you (what a cool necklace you're wearing, too!) but I also love the layers and red streaks. Reminds me when I had magenta/red in my hair! :)
@bunting: We could totally be ponytail twins! Thank you, I love that necklace too, it's just a cheap one from Khol's. I really miss putting streaks in my hair like that, I used to do it all the time, I'd just change the colors every couple of months. I'm trying not to do anything that's gonna damage it too much before the wedding though, so no bleaching and colorful dyes :(
@bunting:Oh I was checking back up on this thread and I saw that you were thinking about maybe shoulder length and I instantly though of a long bob like Jennifer Aniston and Sandra Bullock have done fairly recently. Here are pictures..

i'll be following this! I have the same type of hair long, thing, flat and i've been dying to cut it! i used to wear it short but started growing it when i got engaged (july 2010) since then i havent really done anything with it except trims..here is what it looks like now:

and i used to wear it really short! not sure if you are looking for something short or long but it looked really good - i would wear it in a bob, shorter in the back and longer in the front sort of like an aeon flux style haha- i dont have many pictures but here is one. (eek i was blonde!) and thats my baby brother..

i also have hair like yours. for me a razor bob works really well with a long bang. here are some of the pictures i was able to find on the net:

Thank you for all the suggestions, ladies! You all totally rock my world. I went in yesterday to get it cut, and I ended up getting something a little closer to @Running Elley's referenced Sandra Bullock style... but let me say I am one happy lady!
I had the Mr. take some photos as soon as I got home (which I then used as reference to help me style it again today):

The bangs aren't quite as full as I'd like them, but I only have so much hair to spare plus I'm trying to re-train half of them to ignore the side part I've had since a toddler. It's still long enough to put in a cute little ponytail, but I think when spring hits next year I'll be taking off a bit more to get the edgier razor bob look (like @aprose posted, I love those two photos!) I was even able to donate my chopped hair to a place like Locks of Love. :D
@totheislnds: Are you ready to cut yours? You would look SO cute in the mid-length Sandra Bullock style or a razor bob, though the latter will probably be similar to how you used to have it.
TO ALL: Please feel free to keep posting images and styles for all the other fine-haired ladies looking for ideas! Or, if you have any handy tricks on how to train bangs, I'm all ears!
@bunting: Gosh, you're pretty, before and after. :)
I think it turned out AWESOME!!
Oh I love it! I have pretty much the exact same hair texture, thickness and colour! Mine is long now but with lots of layers so I get a bit of volume and style from it that way. I actually went to get it trimmed a few weeks ago and ended up walking out with layers (my hairdresser has selective hearing apparently).
I had a similar cut a few years ago, it was basically a bob with long layers in the back and front. I have a prominent nose and a square face and I would say that this was one of my favourite cuts.

Nice haircut!
I have fine hair. I just recently cut it to collarbone length, no layers but it's angled around my face. Before it was to my boobs and layered. I hated those layers, they didn't help with volume at all. Now I have volume but I kind of miss my hair a little bit. I'm never getting layers again, I'm sticking with one length.
Thanks, everyone! :D
@Waterfall: Really? That's the first I've heard about someone hating layers! although I guess there is such thing as bad layers.
ohmygod!! You look amazing!!! I hope I am someday brave enough for this cut...it is SO CUTE. I love it,@bunting:!! Great choice!
I love it Mrs Bunting! It looks great! I have too much hair for a cute style like that :-( so I just stick to long with some layers.
@bunting: I felt like I had less hair with the layers than with all one length and it was too annoying to style because I tend to be lazy with my hair lol.

Hi ladies! I'm hoping I can hit you all up for some suggestions. I am SO ready for a post wedding chop, like, I'm going to hit a salon tomorrow. But I have no idea what new cut and style to get.
My hair is currently the longest I've ever had it and my split-ends have split-ends. It's grossing me out. I do love long hair, but this is just too long. I'm ready for something fresh and cute!
But I always seem to have trouble finding a suitable style for my face shape and hair type. My hair is incredibly fine and is also unfortunately on the thin side. Fine + thin + laziness in the morning = super sad, boring, and flat hair.
I also have a very unique profile and I try not to draw any more attention to my strong nose or round face than I can.
This is how long my hair is right now:
This is the nose I have to work with:
And this is all of my hair gathered to show just how thin and fine it is:
I'd love to try some bangs, but in the past I never seem to have enough hair to spare.
Does anyone have any ideas/suggestions/recommendations? Photo examples would be much aprpeciated!
