Getting married in Bettendorf june 2012.  My FI is owner and operator of a very reputable DJ company in the QCA, but I assume the groom would like to have his wedding night off =).  Naturally I know about all of the area "Competition" but would love to hear any reviews from brides in the area.  This is one part of the wedding planning that I do not get to control unfortunately.......  All I can do is let him know about the reviews I read.... This is very important to me, because I really don't want to listen to my husband's ongoing critique throughout our reception about how the DJ did this wrong and how he should have done it this way, blah blah blah..  I can just picture it now!  LOL

@emmalou53: Congrats! Our wedding date is 10/13/12...in Rock Island, but we lived in Bett for the past few years until we had to move to MI. (ugh)

Oh no, that kind of makes the DJ more difficult, since he'll have super high expectations!! I take it that he doesn't work with other people in a company who would be willing to work? Well, I'm not the expert by far...but I've heard good things about Sas Entertainment. We're using RJS Productions. I really hadn't heard too many things about DJs in general, and really nothing about them, but I enjoyed RJS when we met them and I really really hope it's a good fit!! Will try to let you know if I hear anything else!

As far as photography goes, we're using Creative Wedding Package - have heard very, very good things from many people about them. We also looked into Giraffe Photography...I did really like them a lot too! Rick Jennisch was highly recommended as well, but more expensive. There's so many around, I know it's hard to narrow it down!

We're in the midst of looking for a florist....heard anything?

@sept201982:Just found a dress last week when we were back in town. Dress shopping was unbelievably fun!! Also booked the florist and baker last week, so all our vendors are booked...phew. Am focusing on the decor and trying to pin down the look I'm going for. Also will get STDs sent out soon and start looking at BM dresses online. Won't be back til probably March to go dress shopping. That's not too late I hope! I'm kind of looking forward to using the cold winter months for planning out some DIY projects and details. How're you doing??

Well, we can't decide on flowers.  That’s my biggest hang up right now. LOL I would really like real flowers, but I've seen so many nice silk arrangements.  We have the ceremony site booked, the reception site booked, DJ booked, baker booked, rehearsal dinner location picked out.  I have to order my dress.  I fell in love with one online. I'm nervous about ordering online, but I’ll do it soon so if something goes wrong I have time to fix it.  The BM dresses are picked out and all have been ordered.  They came from David's Bridal I loved how these dresses looked on all my BM and of course they were on sale at that time so they went ahead and ordered them, just in case they wouldn't be there later.  They will have fittings closer to the wedding date.

Our theme is "fall" so we have so many colors that we can bring into the decorating it’s been so fun!!

    Hello there,

One of the best resources available to visit a lot of DJ's at one time is at Bridal Expos.  It looks like there is one this Sunday, January 8th from 11am to 3pm at the iWireless Center.  If you still need to book any vendors, this would be a great way to see the main players in the area.

Just remember that the DJ represents you, so pick one whose personality you like and will go above and beyond playing good music!  They should know that YOUR experience matters!

    Hope that helps!

    Mark
