I posted something earlier about finding a cupcake stand. My baker seems to be against cardboard and plastic stands, and is pushing hard to use hers (and its no rental fee). I thought it didn’t look that great (since it doesn’t hold all the cupcakes), but after going through ALL the work of trying to find a stand in my price range, it just doesn’t seem worth it, since it will cost like an addiitonal $100 to rent the type of stand that my baker and I could agree on.
Let me know… do you think the stand if ugly? She is a one man shop and her cake tastes by far the best, but we are paying a surplus because of that. I can always just go to another baker and pay less money to get a wedding cake (though it won’t taste as good, but will still be good). I really wanted a good tasting wedding cake/cupcakes, but not for an additional $250 which is what getting my ideal stand with the type of stand I want.
ADD-ON QUESTION- Has anyone had their wedding coordinator deliver their cupcakes instead of the baker? I assume both have experience dealing with wedding cake just the baker has more? Is it crazy to trust someone who isn’t the baker handle it?

Honestly, I think it looks fine. And you will probably be the only person who will remember the stand. Everyone else will just remember how tasty the cupcakes were.

I don’t think its an ugly stand, but it would bother me that you couldn’t fit all the cupcakes on stands. Maybe you could look around thrift shops and online to see if you can find something similar and then you can have a mismatched collection using both hers and yours?

sorry double post again!! I don’t know why I’m having so many of them this morning 🙁

I like this picture. The stand is pretty!

The stand is pretty it just kind of sucks that only 6 cupcakes fit on it. I like the suggestion of finding several mix & match ones for cheap. You could make them too by gluing plates and candle sticks together.

I don’t think it’s ugly, but I agree with PPs to use hers and then find some cute ones that are missmatchy to give the others some height!

My personal opinion? Tell your baker it’s your wedding and your decision. If she doesn’t like it, oh well. I mean, really… do what feels right to you, not what she prefers.
I got several metal ones (each holds 13 cupcakes) from walmart and spray painted them with metallic paint, and then used decorative cupcake papers. I’m putting a cream puff tower in the middle though, as the statement piece.
