We didn’t do accommodation cards, isntead we put our wedding website on the invitations (skipped save-the-dates, too… we were on a budget man!)

Anyway, we had a section on our website dedicated to accommodations.  I contacted two area hotels and reserved a block of rooms.  I included web links directly to the hotel booking sites on our wedding website.  I also listed a few other ‘budget’ hotels in  the area, but did not reserve blocks at those.

Not exactly what you’re doing though, but I hope this helps!

Are you planning to reserve any blocks of rooms? If so, I might wait till you have those blocks in place (typically a couple of months before the wedding) in case the blocks offer your guests any special rates or anything.

I included the accommodations card my invitations (not save the dates) and also put the info on our wedding website. I included a bit of info about the rates too, just to make things easier on people).

We reserved room blocks at two hotels — one a little more expensive and one a little less.

We did it as well as most of our guest oot, we actually sent out our invitations super early.

Anyways I included a newsletter. On it was a list of hotels are various price points. The top two hotels we recommended because we had hotel blocks reserved, and that where our shuttles were going to pick up and drop off guest. We also included other information about what areas to stay in, what resturants to eat at, and tourist attractions. Links to helpful websites.

My only advice to you is to call around and make sure you don’t have a major event or convention in town because all of the hotels would be booked up months in advance.

On STD I would put a wedding website and put all the info there. We did accomodation cards with our invites (we send them out pretty early since everyone was OOT). We also had our parents call the people we knew needed a hotel the week before the block was closing, to give them one last chance.

We put a link to our wedding website on the STD cards. The website had info about hotel room blocks.  Over half of our guests are coming from out of town so I thought it would be good for them to have the info early.

We reserved room blocks at 2 hotels at different price ranges. We reserved the room blocks about 6 months before the wedding.

@DGB38: I recommend using a wedding website for the travel details, and just including the website on the save the dates and on an enclosure card inside the invitations.

We put all of the accommodations information on our wedding website in great detail.  Inside the invitations we included an enclosure card that listed our wedding website.  We also listed the website on our save the dates. It is far more convenient for our guests, because the website allows us to provide direct links to other pertinent websites, list phone numbers, etc.  Plus, a website can’t get lost whereas a card may be misplaced. I spent a lot of time writing the website copy so it includes everything our guests may need to know, and we have gotten great feedback on it.

Our “Accommodations” page on our website says:

Ho’i Hou Ke Aloha ~ Let Us Fall in Love All Over Again

@DGB38:  On my STDs I listed our website. Our website has accomodation info and more. It was easier for us to do it that way for sure.
