I just found out I was pregnant a few days ago. I was having morning sickness, but at the same time I felt feverish: I had a 101 degree fever later in the day. SO I took tylenol, etc. That's also when I took the pregnancy test. I also had intestinal problems.

Anyways, to make a long story short, I had a virus mixed in with the morning sickness(which I had for the first time). But that was Friday. The fever was still higher on Saturday/Sunday(99.7/99.5). I went to the Urgent care where they confirmed I was present and said I had a stomach flu virus or something.

Anyways, it is now Tuesday and i am still running a 99.2 fever, I just took some tylenol. I have been reading online that some people's body temperatures rise during early pregnancy, others don't. However, when I asked the personal assistant at the doctor's office if this was normal for pregnancy she said typically not. So my question is, do you think I am still getting over the virus(I feel better) or is this just a pregnancy symptom. Should I still be taking the tylenol? I am worried. I think I might call the doctor again tomorrow, though, cuz I am concerned about continuing to take the tylenol! I wouldn't normally worry about a 99.2 fever, but I am also in the very early stages of pregnancy and worried about neural tube disorders which can be caused by high fevers, etc.

Don't hesitate to call the doctor, but generally tylenol (acetaminofen) is safe in pregnancy. You should be fine as long as you stay within the proper dosages. You are just not supposed to take ibuprofen when pregnant.

Im curious if anyone knows if an elevated body temperature(it's 99.4 right now) is normal in early pregnancy and whether or not I should continue to take tylenol for it? I am going to call the doctors again tomorrow, although I just keep speaking to the personal assistant who I don't think knows very much.
