Question about buying a used dress online from someone much taller/larger

I think larger/longer is always better than smaller/shorter, because at least you can take it in. But depending on the gown’s construction, it might be expensive and complicated to alter – for example if there is extensive beading, boning etc. Also, you should really go by measurements rather than sizes, because bridal and street sizes can vary. Ask the seller for detailed measurements and see how they compare to yours.

I agree with peonyinparis, however also don’t buy a dress that’s too big because the cost of alterations might end up being nearly as much of a cost as buying a new dress.
