I wore a mermaid satin gown for my wedding that fit like a glove. I could easily sit, dance, jump around, and do everything else that I needed to do; I wore my dress the whole night without any problems. Just make sure you practice doing whatever you plan to do that night (like your dance moves), during your fitting. I'm sure you'll be fine and look amazing!
just get one with a corset back and you will be fine. one of my friends did and not only was it very form fitting but she could have her friends help adjust the strings in the back whenever she wants..
I wore a mermaid dress (Mikaella 1406) and I didn't have any trouble walking. I got married on the beach, so I even had to hike up sand dunes for some of the pictures.
One tip, hike it up a couple inches right before you sit down and that makes sitting much easier.

I am wearing a sheath style dress that fits me like a glove. My seamstress wanted to make sure I would be able to sit down and I'm happy to report that I'm having n
o problems. The style actually makes me feel more lady like.
My dress was fitted down to below my hips. I definitely couldn't sit down as comfortably as I normally could, but we managed. I hiked the dress up a bit and fell back into chairs--made sure they were couch-like and not too narrow! I wasn't able to shake it as much as I normally do on the dance floor, but I was the BRIDE and people forgave me :)

Hi ladies! I'm now considering a satin mermaid/trumpet style dress, but I'm worried about comfort. The one I tried on was too small, so my thighs were glued together and there was no way I could sit down. When they fit right, can you move around and sit comfortably for several hours?
Thanks!
