Hi all! I have a question regarding a custom engagement ring..I have a trio micropavé promise ring that I got for my five year anniversary (dating) and now that I’m getting engaged I was wondering if it’s possible to add a solitaire diamond to the band. I hope it’s possible, because it would be so amazing to incorporate my promise ring into my engagement ring! Let me know if any of you have done this or heard of it done! I included some stock photos online of the micropavé band that I have now, and the one with the solitaire attached is the look I’m trying to achieve with a solitaire added!! Thank you!! 🙂

Could you use the band as a wedding ring and buy the imagined e-ring outright?

taraer: I agree with a PP, but you can still ask. I asked if a solitaire could be added to a ring and the jeweler we very specific that he wouldn’t do it to the ring I was asking about because there wasn’t much metal and that meant the solitaire might not be strong enough. If that makes sense. I would just be very careful whom you choose to do this for you.

OooOOh how exciting and what an interesting thought although you should ask a jeweller if it could affect the integrity of the ring. Used as a WB with a custom ering to match it would work.
I would just be leery of losing stones after it’s been cut, some stones removed for the head (with prongs) and then soldered together. Great idea though.

I agree with the PP that it would also be nice (and also still just as interesting) to have the e-ring made to match the promise ring… And to make the promise ring your wedding band. That way, you wouldn’t risk compromising the promise ring! You’ll have to buy a wedding band anyhow. 🙂
