what have your temps been? i believe that's the only real way to know. i estimated a 28 day cycle bc i had no idea how long they were when i got off BCP as i've been on it for over 10 years. nope, i've been having 39-41 day cycles and O'd around 25-27 days.
I only have 4 days worth of temps, and so far they've been going steadily up. I wish I had started temping at the beginning of my cycle! :(
@hilsy85:I'm pretty sure that it counts a few days past your EWCM as fertile days and that's normal. Unfortunately without the temps from the beginning of your cycle it probably won't give you a solid O date this month since it waits to confirm by seeing the spike :(
Have you had an AF off of BC yet? It sounds like it's defaulting to 28 days. Once you go through a cycle, it'll estimate it better. The tricky thing with FF is that when your cycle lengthens or shortens, it thinks that the length of the cycle. When my cycle bounced to 28 days, the next cycle it put it as that. The same cycle ended up being 27, my normal. It doesn't really account for averages.
It will adjust once it decided that it has detected your ovulation date. Until it decides that you have already ovulated, it will still count you as fertile if that makes sense. Usually it won't firmly detect your ovulation until you have at least a few temps after your ovulation date, but it might not detect yours at all this month if you started temping well into your cycle.
You wont really get an idea about your cycle length for a few more cycles. Try not to read too much into it. Keep charting and eventually you will see a pattern. BD when you see EWCM until then and hope for the best.
Ok thanks ladies! I guess I'll just keep temping and hope that next month is more clear.

So I've been using FF for the last three weeks or so. Since I just got off BCP, it estimated my cycles as 28 days, so it put my forecasted O day at Oct. 30th. I had EWCM (sorry if TMI!) around then too. However, yesterday and today, it still has me as fertile, even though I'm not having EWCM anymore. Does anyone know how many days past O FF usually has you as fertile? Is having 5 "green" days typical?
