I am ready to fork over the $100 for Veer’s Bruges script, but I’m worried that I won’t be able to use it to its full potential on my computer. I don’t have Adobe Illustrator. I was just hoping that I could download it and start on my merry way in MS Word for Mac OS X, just as I usually do with fonts from dafont.com. Is this possible?
Does anybody have any experience with Veer’s fonts? Is it as simple as downloading the font, installing it, and typing with it in MS Word?
Any insight or advice is really appreciated!

seriously? why is the font so much? heck why even pay for it…is if for a specific program that has to have it? I downloaded all mine of dafont.com for free…they have tons! i recommend looking at http://www.dafont.com/mutlu-ornamental.font
i have a mac with the same program as you…no illustrator, but i use word for mac and that site is awesome, seriously, ive downloaded a ton! I used it for my aisle runner and probably for my invites too…i definitely dont recommend paying for a font…
note to poster, i just read your entire post and see you know about dafont lol haha oops

You can access the glyphs by using the character palette. On the top menu bar, click on the American flag and then “show character palette.” Once you open that, on the top it says “View:” and there’s a drop down menu. Choose “Glyph” and then drill down to Bugues Script. You can either double click the glyph you want to insert or drag and drop into most applications.

So theoretically this should work, but I just tried it in Word and it doesn’t work. Word doesn’t support glyphs.
