Okay so I had an interview today that went great.  The word on the street (okay from a friend that works there) is that it's between me and one other person.  I want to shoot the guy who interviewed me an email to thank him for taking the time to talk to me and such, but I'm not sure what all I should say.  I feel like everything I come up with just sounds weird.

Thank you so much for taking the time to talk with me today.  It was great to meet you and I hope to hear from you soon.

    Sincerely,

    emilygrace07

So what do you think guys... I feel like I need to say more and somehow convey that I really want to work there and that the prospect of working at such an exciting company (they are a major architecture and engineering firm in NYC), but I can't figure out how to word it right.  Any suggestions?

Maybe something like "I look forward to the possibility of becoming a hard working member of your team."  I don't know... I keep doubting myself.  :/

Don't doubt yourself! Smile I think what you have is good, but you could also add a specific detail about working there if you have one, or something specific you talked about in the interview. You could totally say something about how it is an exciting company like you suggested at the bottom. You should definitely email him to thank him for the interview, so don't feel weird about doing it.

Yeah you're right I need to just relax.  I have a pretty good chance of getting it, so I need to just trust myself a little more.

I always email a thank you note following an interview. I usually thank them for their time, reference something that was discussed in the interview, reinterate how I'm a good fit for the position and my interest in the company, then end with "I'm looking forward to hearing from you soon" and wish them luck with their interview process (I worked in HR before and know it's kind of a pain :)). If you need examples, you can always Google interview thank you letters! GL!
