I interviewed for a professional position at a company Monday the 11th. The woman in HR who I interviewed with said I should hear something towards the end of the next week. The day of my interview I sent her a thank you email and she responded saying she was looking forward to hearing from me soon. So on Friday the week after my interview I emailed her to follow up after I had not heard from her. I got an automatic out of office reply saying that she will be out of the office until Monday Dec 2nd. Should I just wait and call her then or should I contact another person in HR?? Thanks!

@nikki_s2468: She probably meant to call candidates back before she left for vacation but ran out of time. I’d wait till Monday afternoon to contact her again. There’s no need to contact somone else. Good luck!!

wait a couple days until she gets back from PTO, if you still haven’t heard from her, then contact her.

I think you should wait and call her/email her on the day after she gets back. She is likely going to be inundated with VM’s and emails that she needs to return. Therefore, waiting 1-2 days IMO gives her a chance to get caught up and possibly return your previous email, and if she doesn’t, she’ll likely be more available the next day for a phone call/email. Hope that makes senses and helps! 🙂

@nikki_s2468: I agree with PP’s to wait a couple of days after she gets back and then contact her. Best of luck! 🙂
