Oh I get what you're saying. You can probably have lace added to disguise the comb. How are you going to get it to stay on without a comb?
Ah, I see, thanks! I wonder if that has a comb sewn in... otherwise I'm not sure how it would be secured to the head...
Edward Berger makes one, that's what I wore for my wedding. The comb is attached to the lace on top.
Sorry, I didn't see that post.
I dunno... I want the lace to disguise the comb. It seems like a lot of the veils I see (except the Davids Bridal one) have lace around the edges but at the top the tulle is gathered around the comb like a regular veil.
Are you opposed to buying one online? I just bought from this etsy seller and love my veil. It is a mantilla, elbow length. The lace does cover the comb. It appears that the lace is just fastened to the comb itself.
I had difficulty finding mantillas in bridal stores as well. The one's that I did find were way over priced.
I'm definitely not opposed to buying one online. I actually don't have my dress yet, but really like the mantilla veil look, so I've been trying to find ones in stores to try on with the dresses.
@misstella- do you mind sharing which etsy seller you used?
@Angela83 - I bought my mantilla veil from marisolaparicio, the same etsy seller that you attached the link from. She is fantastic! She charges about a quarter of what the stores were charging me for a similar veil. Here a couple pics of me.
I also bought my mantilla veil from marisolaparicio. I highly recommend her, she was wonderful to work with!

Ok, hoping someone can help me! I want to wear a mantilla veil high on my head, so that you can see the lace all around, like this:
http://www.etsy.com/listing/50603463/40-inch-marisela-mantilla-veil-with?ref=sr_gallery_2&ga_search_query=mantilla+lace&ga_search_type=handmade&ga_page=&order=&includes[]=tags&includes[]=title
But I haven't seen any in the bridal stores like that one. Even if there is lace all around the veil (not just at the bottom), there is no lace at the top of the head. It looks like the material is gathered to sew in the comb or something.
Is that a different type of veil? Or is that just the way the mantilla looks if you get a comb sewn in?
Sorry if this is confusing! No one else seems to know what I'm talking about...
