Hopefully this isn’t a silly question.lol
I’m getting my dress custom made by Dressilyme and am not sure how to measure myself properly.
When measuring shoulder to shoulder, or hollow to hem do I hold the tape away from my skin or do I hold it against my skin so thats its touching me? I’m worried the measurements wont be accurate if I do it wrong:/
P.S FI will be doing the measuring..

yeah, maybe try get someone like a seamstress to measure you.
if you cant, like me, I just did it myself. when I was younger i would always get custom made dresses, and the dressmaker would always meaure like the tape JUST touching myskin. like you can fit a finger width between your body and the tape.So i just did it that way.

@princessggg: Yes that helps! Thank you:)

@NM32: That is a critical point to keep a comfortable finger between the skin and the measuring tape other wise the dress will become too tight.
Wear the underwear you will with the dress, same bra, spandex etc. Also make sure you have your shoes to get the height/length of dress correct.
If possible, you really should get someone professional to take your measurements and them double check them, because they make mistakes also. This is a critical stage.

@NM32: I highly recommend getting a professional to do the measurements for you (i.e. a seamstress or tailor). I ordered my dress from Fabulous U, and they followed all of my self measurements to a T including my goofed up shouler to boob numbers.
