@LeonardLady:  How tight was the size 5 on you? Mine ranges anywhere from a 4.75 to 5.5 depending on sodium intake too. ie. after sushi all the sodium and rice makes my fingers noticeably larger!

My rings are a 5.25 because I think a bit larger is better than too small. I don’t like the muffin top look for pants or for fingers. lol

I prefer a slightly looser ring. Also, the thickness of the band makes a difference. I can wear a 4.5 when the band is very thin – 2mm – but not when it’s thicker.

@LeonardLady:  Exactly – easier and cheaper to go down a size than to go up a size. for a White gold ring i was quoted around $40 to go down size but $80 to go up because they have to add metal. Maybe get the larger one then after you’ve had it a year you can see if your hands do swell through the year, and downsize if needed.

@LeonardLady: I like to get rings 1/4 to a 1/2 size larger for seasonal swelling. In the cooler months, I wear a cheap ring snuggie from Walmart to ensure it doesn’t fall off! I’ve told my SO that I want to wear my wedding rings through thick, thin, and multiple pregnancies, so order it big!
