I plan on putting a wedding program and a cone full of petals on each chair at my wedding. My question may be a silly one, but how do the guests know to throw the petals when we walk back down?
If you let a few of your friends and family know (like your parents and his parents who will be seated at the front) then they can throw them and everyone will take their cue from those people.
I wish I were doing something like that, but my church won't allow it.
A lot of the pictures I am seeing of the petal cones have something printed on them - the couples' name or wedding date. What if I put something like "shower us with petals on our way out"?
missminij is right about giving guests the heads up--- if you have a planner have her cue a few of the guests in (especially on the aisles). Otherwise, designate this task to a close friend (non-bridesmaid) to clue in a couple people - preferably in the front rows --- this will then cue the back rows.
Wow, thanks. I had a feeling guests wouldn't know what to do. But I want that picture - the one of us walking back down the aisle being showered in rose petals! We're having a small wedding - 30 guests or so. Shouldn't be too hard to clue them all in.
when you walk down the aisle, if people haven't yet thrown, then stop mid aisle and kiss. this will allow guests to shower you and your photog and video to get the shot.
Hi Everyone! This is my first post...

Thanks!

posted by ladyroth 18 posts 7 months agoWhat if you put a little note in the program? Maybe came up with some poem about what to do with the flowers?
My brain isn't functioning right now, so I've got nothing, but a cute poem or note about them would probably do the trick!
Having the guest book attendant tell the people is definitely an idea, too. I don't think it's tacky at all.
