Ok so I have never been to a wedding where people write their own vows. So I am wondering when writing your own vows ( which we plan on doing), do they take over the traditional ones, such as, ” Do you promise to be faithful, and true?”, and reply, and so on and so forth,. Or do both co-exsist in a ceremony if you choose to write your own?

Yep, usually personally written vows go in the same place the traditional ones do. A lot of people work in their own version of the “I promise to be true to you . . .” etc. in the vows they write. Personally, I’ve always thought it was cool when people write their own vows, but then both the bride and groom keep the end the same. It’s personal, but also like they’re making the same promises to each other. I dunno, I just kinda like that. 🙂
