So we plan to use wood pieces on some tables for our centerpieces for our wedding next August. We have a few trees down that we plan to use. My mother-in-law told me we should get them cut now so that they dry out before the wedding. We are doing a rustic theme.
What’s the process? Should we cut them ourselves? Or do we take them to a place to get them cut perfectly? We have a wood place just a mile from us.

we did this! my fil just cut them with the chain saw, he’s pretty handy with a chainsaw so they’re all pretty uniform. depending on how thick they are you have to be careful drying them, try leaving them in a garage or shed outside over the winter cause the one that i brought in the house(about three inches thick) did eventually crack whereas the ones i left in the garage didnt. hen we just sanded them a bit and they’re good to go!
