@HisMoon:  I’ve worn a similar sash on another occasion and did feel that it would sag, I would maybe go for the grosgrain to add some texture that may help!

i made one, not completely of crystals/beads mine was floral, a broach, etc, def more on the heavy side and I backed mine with a thin layer of black felt to give it stability  here is a pic, its on a black ribbon so you can’t see it and I cut it much smaller than the embellishment,…

If you want the satin ribbon, maybe you can also plan to safety pin the bow from underneath? I agree that I don’t think it will hold well as-is.

Could your tailor sew the sash to the dress?  My sash didn’t have embellishments but was made out of Peau de soil to match my bridesmaids dresses.  Heavier fabrics are great for sashes!

@HisMoon:  Great idea.  Then it also won’t shift side-to-side.  I liked having a sash I didn’t have to worry about.
