After some issues I’m still trying to decide on what I have the rest of my bridesmaids wear and how to tie the look of the entire wedding party together. So my question for those with mismatched bridesmaids, was there any element you used to tie everyone together?
And I’d love to see some of inspiration pics if you have any. 🙂

I told my girls to get a floor length dress in Marine satin from David’s. They were all happy with getting to pick their own dress – and my pregnant Maid/Matron of Honor ended up ordering fabric from David’s and having hers made custom by her local tailor!

I’m telling my BMs to get floor length dresses in the same color/fabric. Other than those guidelines they are on their own! 🙂

I let them know what color and fabric I wanted and they picked their own styles!!

I am telling them to get dresses in the same length (they can decide together) in a certain color (ruby from David’s Bridal) I don’t care what style

I picked the color, fabric, designer, and length. They picked the style.

I just went shopping with them without a real idea of what we were looking for. They found a dress they liked, but we couldn’t decide which color we liked best so we got 3 different colors. Here’s a pic of the dresses together. 🙂

i’m giving my bridemaids my wedding colors, and we’re all going shopping one day to see whats out there available for them to get….i told them i’m envisioning them in a summery type dress, possibly floral print but doesnt have to be….and as long as its light, airy, and they feel comfortable in it, then awesome….we’ll worry about tying them all together after i see what they pick out but one idea i’m leaning towards is having them hold parasols instead of boquets….
so kinda something like this:

My girls are wearing knee length chiffon dresses in DB watermelon color. Style is completely up to them as long as the shade, length and material match.

I’m specifying color and length, and possibly the fabric (so that they photograph well together/the color looks the same across the board). I want them to choose their own styles. I will tie their look together with either bouquets or clutches, and Maid/Matron of Honor and Matron of Honor will have special hair or dress accessories.

I told my sisters to pick something green and short. My younger sister and I later found a couple of dresses out shopping one day, and they both tried them on. I told them they could pick matching or different, and they picked different. They looked great!

I told them “blue” (any shade), whatever makes you feel gorgeous, about knee length, and it has to be something you would wear in front of your grandma 🙂

I guess I was a bit of a bmaid dress dictator. *Blushes* My girls are all wearing something different, but I selected a dress for each of them. They are all coral chiffon knee-length dresses, but I went to (what felt like) a gazillion different shops finding dresses to flatter everyone. I hoped that would save everyone time searching, especially since a few of the girls are younger and wouldn’t have really wanted to put in the time to look (I believe).

I would like them to wear rhe same color and similar style, but defnitely not exactly matching.

@Texacali: I’ll probably do something pretty similar. I want to pick out 2 dresses per girl and have her try them both on and pick one. I’m doing DB with the same fabric, color and length.
