I would spray paint it before adding anything to it. Perhaps in silver for some extra glitz.

Definitely spray paint it before hand. E6000 may be a good glue to go with. Or a hot glue gun, though those tend to be messy at times. Not sure on rhinestone sizes though.

@mrsSS:  I’m a huge fan of E-6000 glue for most projects, but I’m not sure what you’re spraying this with, so you’d have to do a test area and see.  You could also try super glue or tacky glue.  I would advise against a glue gun because they can be messy looking on something like this.

@eocenia:  Yep. Definitely spray paint before doing anything. that way if things fall off you’ll still have a base. Crylon has a great line of metalic spray paints. Once it’s dry decide if you even need anything else! You can go pick up rhinestones, pearls and other pretty decorative things from Michaels and get glue-guning!
