I am SUPER regular. I have never been more than 2 days late without being pregant.
I'm pretty regular, max fluctuation for me has been 5 days +/-
10 days seems like a lot. Is it possible that you are pregnant? I would take a test just to be sure.
I am usually like clockwork regular. I have never been more than 3-4 days late. Are you on any type of hormonal birth control now because that can mess up your cycle. If not, I would take a pregnancy test.
It probably wouldn't hurt to take a pregnancy test if you are sexually active, just in case.
Was Christmas an overly stressful time for you this year? Mine is very regular around 27 to 28 days but had it go as many as 36 because my ovulation was delayed because of stress. I was charting so I didn't panic. I knew that I hadn't ovulated and that's why I hadn't gotten my period. It still wouldn't hurt to take a pregnancy test.
The most I've ever been late previous to this cycle is 4 days (a few months after coming off of birth control pills). Other than that I've always been pretty darn dead on. This cycle, though, I'm now 8 days late. I've taken two home pregnancy tests (ClearBlue, which is supposedly a REALLY good brand), both negative, but I really don't trust them. I'm going to go into a clinic to check.
@Neva: I am very regular and I was about 5 or so days late when I finally gave in and got a pregnancy test. I too was pretty sure I wasn't pregnant bc we had just started trying 3 weeks before but guess what? I was!! So yes go get a test! There's a good chance you are!:)
Thanks for all your comments. I have to admit they weren't what I was expecting. I was expecting to be reassured that some of you who were also very regular also have once or twice found your period to be very late and weren't pregnant.
Anyway, because of your recommendations, I did get a pregnancy test and took it. But I still don't know!! I didn't get a line that gave me a positive result, but I didn't get the control line either. I got nothing. :(
Fortunately, I bought two. I'll try again tomorrow morning.
If you're 10 days late and pregant you don't have to wait until tomorrow morning, it will probably show up positive. Drink some water and try again. I got postitive results on my tests, I took them all in the afternoon and evening.
When I recently found out I was unexpectedly pregnant I could just tell leading up to my period that it wasn't coming. I just didn't feel the same as I normally do. When I was about 1 day late I took a test (in the afternoon) and it came out positive.
If you are 10 days late there is a good chance you are pregnant so test again either tonight or in the morning.
i am very regular and have never been more than 1-2 days...10 days late sounds like you should def take another test soon!
Take the test first thing in the morning. Like literally get up and pee on the stick first thing. I had a nurse tell me once that taking a pregnancy test first thing in the morning is the best way to get the most accurate reading.
I was always like clockwork too so I knew something was up when I was a couple days late even though I still had PMS symptoms (or what I thought were PMS symptoms!) I literally bought pads/tampons on Friday thinking I was about to get my period and bought a pregnancy test on Sunday once I realized I was much later than I should have been!
I did! And it's negative. I guess it's possible to just be waaaaaay off one month.
Thanks to all you ladies for all your support. You got me to take the test so at least now I know and am not still wondering.
And to be honest, I'm both majorly relieved and a bit disappointed. I'm an encore and my husband and I both have two children and really don't want to start over with another baby....but at the same time there is that tiny part of me that would love to have a baby with him. Oh well.
@Neva: Im glad you posted an update. at least now you know.
and I completely get that mixed bag of emotions with a negative test. On one hand its a relief but on the other there is always the "what if" game.
3-5 days - one time was due to stress (right before the wedding), the other time I'd taken the Plan B (because I'd gone off BC for about a month).
I'd say unless you've been sick, stressed or taken something the could have effected it you should take a pregnancy test - mine was never late except for in those rare occasions.
I was always regular, on and off the pill. The longest my period was ever delayed was 5 days. When my December period hadn't come in 7 days, I started to consider the reasons.... I was totally pregnant. And I didn't think I was either. I'd say to wait a day or 2 and take a HPT. Can't hurt.

I know there are ladies that have irregular cycles and/or miss periods entirely occasionally, but I've never been like this. This question is for those of you who are pretty regular...your cycles are very predictable.
How long is the latest you have been...and NOT been pregnant? I'm usually very regular and and now officially ten days late. I doubt I'm pregnant, but I was just wondering how often that happens.
