@wanderingbrunette:  Hey! I believe their services depend on what kind of band you have.

I have a pave band, and needed a size 5.5- it was too small to re-size from their standard bands (size 7), so they had to cast a new ring completely.

However, I believe if you have a plain band, they will simply resize it.

The reason they cast a new ring for pave bands is because if you re-size a pave band, the small diamonds might pop out. So, to keep the integrity of the ring in place, they cannot re-size.

Regardless of the band style, though, all repairs/re-sizing is done in Montreal.

@wanderingbrunette:  I always go to local jewelers who do the work on-site rather than going to a jewelry store that does sales vs repairs/design.

Don’t know… but we ordered my wedding band from there (custom) and it was made in my size.. it did take about a month for this process.

@wanderingbrunette:  I dont see any imperfection. It’s perfect. Love to see the sapphire. I adore sapphire with diamond. Beautiful. Thanks. Love the photo and your ring. Good luck with sizing.

@wanderingbrunette:  I used to work at Birks about 10 years ago- never heard of them resetting in a new size? Everything did go to Montreal for any work on watches or jewelry and took a long time to get back, but the resetting I can’t confirm. Lovely ring:)

@wanderingbrunette:  DEFINITELY get Birks to do all repairs on your sparkly. I wouldn’t trust anyone else!

@wanderingbrunette:  I also wanted them to fix something on my ring, and they absolutely fixed it without a problem. Also, for my ring, they made a new one when we bought the ring- dunno if they would cast a new ring for something you’ve already worn, but who knows– their customer service is fantastic.

@wanderingbrunette:  oh that is beautiful. I love the surprise sapphire! I agree, keep it for New Years then send it out for sizing. I hate not having my ring on my finger. It looks like perfection to me! Good luck!

Ps thanks for the photos 🙂
