Are you planning on rolling around in the grass? question re: taking pictures before the wedding... : wedding Icon Razz

Seriously, though.  I would think the hair and make-up would just require a touch up.  As far as the dress goes...be careful!

We took our pre-ceremony pics outside in the wet grass and didn't have a problem. I had to pick up my dress to cross a beauty bark island, but that was about it. Hair should be fine unless it's super windy, and makeup might only require a touch up. Mine did because I got shiny, but my mom was able to take care of it easy-peasy.

As a photographer, I have many couples opt to do some or all of their portraits before the ceremony, and I have never once seen messed up hair, make-up, or dress.  It all depends on where you want to take your pictures, and the risks that are involved (is it outside in inclement weather?  is it somewhere dirty or dusty or wet? etc.)

It may be helpful to sit down with your photographer, decide which locations are low-risk and which are high-risk, and then determine the order of your photographs that way - low-risk before the ceremony, and high-risk afterwards.

The only other thing that I would recommend you be careful about is where you SIT pre-ceremony.  Make sure, if you are going to sit in any photographs, that it is clean and dry before you do so.

    Good luck with your photos!
