@brattyanon123:  Maybe those appraisals were for sidestones in your ring and not the center stone.

@brattyanon123:  Haha, love your Anon name!

I would be unhappy, too! I hope they’re for sidestones!

I’m a direct person. I would just talk to him about it. Tell him what you found. It’s not like you went looking for it.

Point out that you don’t want to sound bratty, but you’re disappointed. I would be too.. but I would try to let him explain before I went full psycho on him bitching that he is trying to cheap out lol.

well…go talk to him..be all sneaky …don’t tel him you found print outs..tell him that you read that diamonds should be GIA certified…and not less than F color (or which one you consider good enough for you)…because otherwise it is not good…

I mean don’t be upset with him..most of the men don’t know much details about diamonds…and if the jeweler he wors with pushes EGL and tells him that I color will be enough he might start listening..

well..my opinion on clarity is that as long as it is eye clean I don’t care…(i will put extra money in cut, carat or color)..but color I wouldn’t give up..I wanted my stone to be colorless..and I understand your desire as well…

maybe you should be honest with him…and say nicely…”baby, I found these print outs in your car…and I know I wasn’t suppose to look…but I did and now I am concerned..and need to discuss it with you”..I mean it might be uncomfortable..but it is better than being all upset and dissapointed after he will propose with the ring you are not happy with..

Is it possible that he has some heirloom diamond jewelry he wanted to have appraised (to either propose with or sell for money to buy you a ring?)

Just trying to come up with reasons why he’d have that.

I will say, when DH and I were looking at rings, we definitely had certain specs in mind.  However, when he actually went shopping for my ring, he said he knew immediately which ring he wanted for me, and he didn’t even think about asking about the specs.  Luckily, he picked a good one!

@brattyanon123:  Oh, no! Maybe he planted them to throw you off! I REALLY hope that’s the case…

Is it possible that he realized how much the diamonds were that he wanted to get for you and realized they were out of his price range?

PS….at least your dude is looking at rings!!  LUCCKKKKKYYYYYY!
