@lifeswonderful2day:  Actual discounts on services. And a drawing to win a free service. I found my DJ and my cake lady from a bridal show. So I really did go with the intention of booking services. But I wasn’t ready to put deposits down that day because I discuss everything with my dad since he is paying. The vendors at the shows I went to offered great deals if you booked AT THE SHOW. But I wish they would have offered the same deals for a certain amount of time after the show to give brides like me a chance to think it over. I would have booked several more vendors from the show if their discounts carried beyond the day of the show.

ETA: We actually ended up reserving our room block for the OOT guests from a hotel that was represented at the show. And I won my veil from another vendor there too!

I dislike the ‘spammy scammy’ aspect of some bridal shows.  I do love the food, discounts on products or services, and the raffles.  I’ve never won a raffle, but I did pass by a few cake and cupcake vendors several times to get more free samples.  What can I say…. I love me some cake!

@lifeswonderful2day:  I liked vendors that could actually show me their work and answer questions.

Getting a discount that applied to later was fantastic as well, although I did book on a few “now or never” deals, I appreciated the time to decide more.

Our DJ did a “Minute to Win It” where we played the game and if we won, we got an hour of free service added to our package. That was really fun and gave me a better vibe that they would do. I don’t know if you could do something like that for your service but it would be cool.

Even a scratch for a discount or something like that, would be pretty cool and get me to stay at the booth longer. I’m actually really skeptical of raffles as I find most of them just a way for people to collect my information.

Alot of the booths that didnt seem so attractive I went to cuz they were giving away free food, or snacks.  And the reason I found these is I brought FI with me and he would be all over the free food, lol.  I actually found my DJ this way 🙂

**side note** since my FI discovered Mash potatoe bars at the bridal shows he wont stop talking about that vendor lol

I second the free stuff. Also I didn’t like the booths where people were super pushy about their products. I enjoyed the option to go home and read about whatever it is I’m interested in. The excitement of the show can be distracting and what sounds AMAZING at the show might just be smoke and mirrors.
