Hey everyone, I currently have a collar bone length bob but desperately want a vintage style chignon for my wedding in September and am sure that my hair won’t be long enough by then. I was just wondering, did anyone use extensions or hair pieces to achieve their look? How did they work? Where they comfortable? Expensive? Let me know!

I do not currently have hair extensions, but am planning them for my wedding as well. My boss goes to a place that uses the Hair Locs system, and to be honest I didn’t know she even had extensions, until about 5-6 months after I started working here, when she mentioned it. I may go that route. Not sure how expensive they are since it depends on how many you get and how long, etc, etc… But I will prob start now, so that I have time to get used to them. Apparently they are reusable, you just go in for maintence and have them move them back up to the top of your hairline every few months or so, depending on how fast your hair grows. I plan on scheduling my first consult this week or next, I will let you know how it goes.

BelleEtoile: Same issue – short hair but need long for the style I want to do. At the recommendation of another bee, I just purchased extensions from Bellami (http://www.bellamihair.com). I got the 160g 18″ extenions for $99 and they’re human hair so I can color, style, wash, everything. I ordered Thursday and they arrived yesterday – it was crazy. They match pretty well – I may just put dark red low lights in my natural hair to blend them better rather than trying to lighten the extensions but I’m pretty happy with them! I haven’t put them all in yet, but will try sometime this week.
