At my FI’s Christmas dinner, his cousin (age 6) wanted to know when we’d be having kids. FI said he didn’t know but he’d tell her when we’d decided, and life went on. The next night I told my sister about it and she FREAKED out about the rudeness of that sort of question. I agree that it’s prying from older people, but when a 6 year old just wants to know if she’ll be allowed to hold the baby, that seems different to me. Is this situational etiquette, or would you be offended?

I wouldn’t be offended at all. Its a 6 year old that doesn’t know anything. she probably thinks that when you get married you have a baby!

I definetly wouldn’t be offended, especially by a 6 year old. Although, I probably wouldn’t be offended if anyone asked me. I have already heard it a few times when they find out I’m getting married.

Definitely wouldn’t be offended – she’s 6!! I’m not saying that 6 year olds don’t ask offensive questions, but it sounds like she’s just excited for a baby. No big deal. I think it’s kind of cute, actually.

From a 6 year old? No, I’d definitely not be offended!!! Actually, considering the bluntness of my family, I don’t think it’d offend me from anyone, haha!

Haha, definitely wouldn’t be offended. Kids don’t have that kind of understanding of a situation.

Little people asking doesn’t bother me at all!

I think it’s adorable when little kids ask questions like that!

Kids ask ALL kinds of stuff, I’ve just learned to not be offended by any of it because they are always so curious and honest.
