My engagement ring is too small to fit on any finger on my left hand. I’ve read that during the wedding, you are supposed to switch your engagement ring to your right hand, and then return it to your left after your wedding ring is on your left ring finger. I know in the whole scheme of things it doesn’t really matter, but do you have any suggestions for what to do with my engagement ring during the wedding ceremony?
Also, my fiance busted his left ring finger in college, and it didn’t set right, so he basically can’t wear a ring on his left ring finger. Do you think right ring finger? I had heard that widowers wear their wedding rings on that finger… I don’t want people to think he’s a widower!

My friend wore her engagement ring on a bracelet she was wearing, hers wouldn’t fit her RH either. I’m also going to have to go down that route! This babies only made for one finger!!

Wear it on a bracelet or necklace! As for your FH, he should probably wear it on his right hand with the circumstances. Other cultures do it, and if anyone asks, he can just tell them his left ring finger is busted. It’s no less commitment 🙂

I just did what felt most natural and convenient to me; I kept my ering on my normal left ring finger. We just kept it on and he slid the ring over it. I didn’t have to worry about my ring not fitting or losing it or having phantom ring feelings on my left ring finger. We had a few minutes alone with our officiant and coordinator in a separate room post-ceremony and I switched the order then.
