Ask how much it will cost to add an extra hour or so at the end of the night. Our wedding was still going strong ten minutes before the DJ was supposed to stop playing music and I would have willingly paid anouther $100 or so for him to play antother hour.
thanks daisy!
does anyone else have any advice? i feel like i know the right kind of logisitical questions to ask once we get a contract, but i'm not really sure how we feel out and judge if the dj's the right one for us. a bad dj can totally kill the party...i just feel like it's hit or miss!
Ask him what his typical layout of a reception is like. Have him show you a plan of how the night is to progress (i.e. cocktail hour, dinner, cutting cake, first dance, MOB/MOG dance, bouquet toss, garter toss...etc.) and if there are any special inclusions throughout the night. Our DJ is very upbeat and has a couple of fun parts planned throughout the night which livens it up a little. Make sure he will be prepared and that he has capable electronics!!
