@KatNYC2011: That sounds pretty smart casual to me.
I think its a more dressy form of casual, and it sounds like you will be fine. I think along the lines of jeans with a business casual top at the very least
I think I'm going with khakis instead of the jeans. Mainly because a lot of people will be coming straight from work... and my jeans are a bit tighter than I'd like right now. :-(

I'm going to a happy hour/hosted talk tonight an the dress code is "Smart/Casual".
What does that mean to you?
It's FREEZING here so I need to wear long pants/sweater.
I was thinking skinny jeans, knee high flat black boots, black sweater, and fun jewelry. Is this too casual?
I never know what these dress codes mean.
