OK picked this up off of http://www.centsationalgirl.com about a year ago and have done several sets but was doing one tonight and wanted to post in case anyone was looking for a cute way to jazz up giving a gift of a bottle of wine
Tonight I did these to give to my photographer with a bottle of wine when we meet with her on Friday
Here are some I did for myself and we use all the time
What you need
Plain wine glasses – Goodwill is a great place to get them cheaply
an assortment of decorative beads and buttons
a large package of seed beads
silicone adhesive – the kind used for aquariums
2 small (just bigger than the base of the glass is perfect) plastic or paper bowls (you will throw these away at the end)
damp paper towel for spills
latex gloves – optional
Start with clean glasses and TRY to avoid touching the bowls with silicone on your fingers – if so wipe quickly with a damp paper towel.
Using either a latex gloved finger or just the tip of the silicone adhesive spread a thick layer of adhesive around the base and a small amount around the bottom or the wine glass stem. Make sure you spread it all the way to the edge of the base with a heavy but even coat.
Starting with your largest beads or buttons place them in the adhesive (you can put a bit extra adhesive on the back of the buttons that have stems. Arrange them randomly around the base – press them in gently.
put the glass in a shallow plastic bowl and pour seed beads over until coated
gently shake the excess beads back into the bowl – transfer to the second bowl and pour over again. Repeat last step until all silicone adhesive is covered
gently pat beads down – very lightly
let cure for 72 hours to a week before washing
Kind of makes a neat add on to a bottle of wine gift and they are cheap to make
