I’m working on our timeline and I’m stumped. Or overthinking.
We have booked our bar for four hours (our venue’s max), and our DJ for four hours.
Then I was thinking – huh…we need a last call, right? Otherwise people will still be drinking once it’s time for our DJ (and everyone else) to start packing up. So logistically I’m thinking last call should be a half hour before the reception is over.
But then we have people with fresh drinks and the DJ packing up.
So should we add a half hour to our DJ’s time? It’s $50.
Right now, I’ve got:
6:30p – doors open/bar opens/music starts
10:30p – bar closes, our DOC starts cleaning up/DJ packs up.
But wouldn’t it make more sense to do:
6: doors open/bar opens/music starts
10: bar closes
10:30: DJ packs up
Thoughts? (Oh, and important to note: we’re doing a cocktail style reception so we won’t be closing the bar during the dinner hour since it’s a mix/mingle all night type thing).
Or should I just not worry about it?
