I use it just like rice, so it goes in casseroles, etc.

@MRSLMA:  thanks for correcting the spelling. We use it in stir Frys or I buy quinoa and use it in homemade bars and stuff. There are incredible books out there so check the local library.

We boil quinoa in chicken broth and add some garlic, ginger, soy sauce to make an Asian flavoured dish.

Toasted pine nuts and garlic, then add golden raisins or dried cranberries.  So satisfying!

Also, tempeh or tofu (or chicken) with a curry or thai peanut sauce.  Basically, anything I’d eat with brown rice, I’d eat with quinoa.

I fry finely chopped onions, sweetcorn and carrot with lots of paprika, and mix it in with the quinoa. I love it 🙂

I like to make it like a rice pilaf with vegetable stock and some veggies mixed in.

I use it to make salad.  I mix it with feta, tomatoes, cucumbers, onion, peppers, etc. and red wine vinegar and oil. I like to eat it cold!

I LOVE quinoa. In the fall I will make a stuffed squash dish with quinoa, cranberries, sage, toasted walnuts, etc. I just tried a recipe for pan fried quinoa cakes which is basically a healthy fritter. Served it with salad and spicy sweet potatoes. Here is the recipe. http://www.runningtothekitchen.com/2012/01/zesty-quinoa-cakes/

You can also have cooked quinoa for breakfast like oatmeal–microwave it with some soy milk or regular milk and add a bit of brown sugar or maple syrup and cinnamon and fresh fruit–yum!

I also use it instead of rice or cous cous. A favorite summer side is cooked quinoa according to the directions and I mix in a crushed garlic clove, little bit of olive oil, squeeze of lemon, salt and pepper and chopped herbs or arugula–zesty, refreshing and healthy!
