Sure. :) The forecast can and does change sometimes.
But be prepared just in case. I've seen lots of cute pictures with big awesome umbrellas!
Also, isn't rain on the wedding day considered lucky? Even though it's an inconvenience? ;) Just sayin'...
@AmeliaBedelia: I have a big white umbrella. :)
I'm just disappointed. I know it's considered good luck, but yuck I reallllly didn't want to deal with rain!
Dont worry about it yet sweetie ! Prepare for the worst, but hope for the best! There's still time for that to change. Check again in a few days.
@Evie19: At the risk of being annoying... "It'll all work out." Lol. It really will. Yeah, rain is yucky, but hey. You have an awesome big white umbrella and you'll be gorgeous! And getting MARRIED! In like a week and a half!
@AmeliaBedelia: I know you're right. It'll take me a day to get over it, I just now checked the forecast a few minutes ago.
I'm very excited- 9 days away seems unreal!!
I started on my 10 day forcast and at first it was supposed to be rain and 38 and it was sunny and 74. I checked it a few times a day so I know what you mean. lol So it can change! Who knew I could have 74 in January!!I didn't even take my jacket out of the package from alterations.
I am so excited for you!! I will be thinking of you this weekend. I wish you all the best!
It can definitely change 10 days out!
We had rain on ours. I was disappointed, yes, but we also had good fun in the rain with our pictures - and it was an event to remember. :)
@Katielee: Actually you're totally right! I just checked now that we're 6 days out, and the forecast changed from rain to party cloudy...horray! It'll be 60 degrees too. :)
Phew!
I'm so glad you had a nice sunny day. Thank you for being so sweet and supportive! :)
@jaguar: Yeah everyone says you get the greatest pics in the rain! I guess if our 20% rain chance plays out we'll have some pretty umbrella pictures.
My 10 day forcast grew progressively worse. Started with light showers, to heavey showers, to rain, to heavy rain with no chance of stopping all day. That was the forcast the day before the wedding. I was very much :(
We had minimal showers and even had bouts of sun, so weather reporst are hardly ever right IMO. Good luck!
@Atalanta: You're so right! Can't control the weather. I need to learn to go with the flow....ha, yeah right. ;)
They were forcasting torrential rain on our wedding day (late December in Canada... seriously?!) and it rained all night, but stopped at noon and didn't start until we were at the reception. It was totally against the forcast. Things change quickly with the weather!
Just in case though, do you have a good indoor/outdoor photo location? For example, we did some "outside" photos on the porch of my grandmothers house. We were sheltered, but it still gave the appearance of being outside.
@SarahSmilesDec28: Well, I'm being silly because we weren't intending on taking any outdoor photos.
I'm mostly worried about rain because of traffic and people slipping on the marble steps, etc...
Not silly at all! Those are all valid concerns and we had the same ones. Our venue had a couple of guys with umbrellas escorting ladies from cars into the venue to make sure they didn't slip and to keep dry. One of the ushers was on a simlar duty at the church.
it rained on my wedding day... ALL DAY LONG!! The priest ended up being half an hour late due to the rain, but as if by magic... as soon as I left the hotel to go to the Church, the clouds opened up and the sun came out, it was magical and nor the rain, not the delays took anything away from the most awesome day of your life. You are there to marry your guy, and in the end that is all you will remember.
It rained all day on my wedding day. As soon as we said our vows the sky opened up and the sun came out. People were joking how God & Mother Nature approved after all. But getting ready and getting there was really annoying and it was hard to take outdoor pictures. But you're not taking pics outdoors at least so you won't have to worry about being all soggy and muddy! Thank goodness the forecast changed. Are they ever really right with that stuff???
My wedding ceremony was on a rooftop overlooking the ocean...My 10 day forecast said the same thing and I was FREAKING OUT... My husband (then FI) banned me from looking at the weather forecasts becuase they all said RAIN RAIN RAIN. I was so busy with the last minute things that I did my best not to think of it....But the 2 days before the wedding were cloudy and rainy, and then...for our rehearsal dinner, which was also outdoor/poolside at the resort overlooking the ocean, the rain stopped. It was still cloudy but no rain. And I thought, "Okay, maybe this will happen tomorrow! I can handle cloudy as long as there's no rain!" Well there was not a cloud in the sky the next day...It could not have been more amazing! I checked my phone's weather app, and it still said RAIN RAIN RAIN, but it was sunny and beautiful next to the ocean, and our day was perfect!
How's this for a rainy forecast?

Good luck! I'll keep my fingers crossed for sunshine!
@Evie19: oh yes - it can change. Ours was on the beach and it forecasted cold and rain for 4 days around our day. It poured two days before, but we had wonderful, warm weather on the day of!!! So it can definitely change - it did for us!
We're in New England, where the adage is "If you don't like the weather, wait a minute!" so I've tried to avoid looking at a forecast. Well, I cheated... and right now it calls for snow showers on Saturday (welcome dinner) and overcast & warmish (44 degrees) on wedding day. That's just about as perfect as we could want, so I'm *really* hoping it stays that way!
It can definitely change!
Even if it doesn't though... I hear it's good luck! My parents got married on a very rainy day, and they have the most adorable pictures! The bridesmaids wore their plastic dress bags over their dresses to get from the limo into the church, and those photos are great! There are some awesome photos of my mom getting out of the limo, with the limo driver holding an umbrella over her, and she's wearing these awesome bright yellow heels so her white wedding heels wouldn't get wet. So adorable!
@Evie19: Glad it's changed. Whilst I'm here I hope everything goes well for your special day, enjoy every moment.
p.s. message me when you post your recaps as I'm not on here as much as before and I'd like to make sure I see your recaps
;)
@BostonBaby: I hope you get the weather you want, almost-date-twin!! :)
@bluebonnet: Now I bet if it doesn't rain ill be sad I don't have the extra good luck!!
@Prewitt: I will message you for sure!! Thanks for your kind wishes. :)
Message me, too!
I hope everything goes really really well. And don't worry too much about the rain. I had lots of rain on my wedding date, yes, it was kind of annoying but in the end we got to see a beautiful rainbow on the way to the reception hall. How about that?
@Evi: I will definitely message you!
That must have been a lovely moment when you saw the rainbow :)

Ugh. I really didn't want to have to deal with rain on the wedding day...but there it is.
Just checked the 10 day forecast andit says: RAIN. Not even light rain, or showers....but RAIN.
Is there any chance it could change when the days get closer? Sometimes the forecast from 10 days away isn't so accurate, right?...
