Since it should still be warm enough (crossing my fingers as Iowa is terrible about temperature control) we are packing umbrellas if it rains.  I have seen a lot of pictures with umbrellas on pintrest and the like, and they look so awesome and playful.

I am the type to run out and play in the rain though, so it would be totally my style.

@marinewife4:  We’ll probably just do pictures in the hotel where our reception is being held. It looks really cool inside so I’m thinking we should be able to get some cool pictures there. Also, lots of pictures inside of the church after the ceremony ends. I really really hope it doesn’t rain, though!! Fingers crossed.

We are doing everything indoors, so we won’t have to worry about a backup plan for that. But we wanted to take photos at the state capital, which is a block from our venue. The photographer is confident that even if it is raining, we can find a short break in the rain and go take pics.

If it rains on my wedding day, would definitely like the (colourful) umbrella photos:

Some of those photos can be gorgeous!

I don’t have anything helpful to say (except some of the photos in this thread are fab! So don’t worry!) but I now have Alanis Morrisette in my head. Argh!

I will be playing in the rain if it rains on my wedding day. Screw my hair. Screw my make up. I love the rain and so does FI.

A friend went to a local butterfly garden when it rained during her wedding photo time.
The photos were so cool!

Our reception is indoors, but the ceremony is outdoors.

I’m considering getting a tent or something to cover the area, but I think I might just go the umbrella route – maybe get some seriously huge umbrellas that cover like 3 people at a time.

Or, each person can have one.

Either way, I’m not too overly concerned about it.

It DID rain on my wedding day, but luckily it was during the evening reception and we were under a gorgeous covered pavilion in the middle of a botanical garden, so it was actually kind of magical and awesome. It let up completely just before our sparkler exit, right on time.

If it had rained during the ceremony time which was in an uncovered spot, I think we would have either waited it out, or moved the ceremony to the pavilion beside the reception setup.
