In my perfect wedding I always wanted it to rain.(after the ceremony of course!). My FI and I LOVE the rain. It’s completely serene and calming. This saturday, our wedding day, so happens to have scattered thunderstorms, a 30 percent chance of rain, and a HIGH of 79! What dream weather! Is there something odd that you’d like mother nature to grace you with on your own wedding day?

Hi Date Twin! I’ll send any rain your way (after your ceremony of course!) but I know what you mean – I love thunderstorms and think that it would be great to view a lightning show over the harbor while we’re all safely tucked inside dancing the night away!

My wedding is on a Florida beach, in April, the driest month of the year. If it does rain, they will move the ceremony into the reception pavilion, which would be fine and everyone would sit at their designated table. However, as far as the ceremony goes, I am only allotted 20 chairs (for 80 guests). If I rent more to accommodate everyone, it will cost me $300-$350, b/c it’s on a Sunday. I can’t afford that, so many will have to stand for 30 min. or so. Even if I did rent the chairs, and it rained, I forfeit all money and it’s wasted funds…Don’t like it, but I gotta deal with it.
SOOOO the irony is, if my ceremony is moved inside because of rain, EVERYONE will have a seat!
So I guess I don’t care if it rains, except for my sunset photos 🙂

I REALLY wanted it to rain on our wedding day. I wanted the stormy grey skies and everything in our photos – as it turned out it was a gorgeous day and the sky was THAT blue that everyone was a bit amazed. Also isn’t rain meant to be good luck on a wedding day? 🙂 I’ll have my fingers crossed for you!
