Accuweather.com for NYC says: More humid with sun and some clouds; an afternoon shower or thunderstorm around
Maybe the thunderstorm will be fleeting? Fingers crossed and don't worry about it too much. I'm sure you'll still have a great day :)
AW.... doing the rain dance for you!!!
Go get some cute umbrellas now!!! Just in case, they'll make for some super cute photos!
@blueshoes: Thank you....I'm not in NYC for the wedding...I'm in the Albany, NY area.
All the forecasts say something different and my head is just spinning. I'm mostly worried about the pictures. We only have outdoor locations...nowhere indoors :o( Uggghhh, why couldn't this one thing go right for me?!
It's been raining here a ton and I'm hoping that it goes away by next weekend. Fingers crossed that the rain stays away for your big day.
HOTCHILD, I'm with you, I'm totally having a panic attack right now!!!! ACK!!! Let's do the sun dance and pray that thunderstorm skips both Albany and East of Albany!!!
I hope you get the same luck I got last year--major crazy thunder storms in the morning, magically cleared up by 10am. All whilst I flipped sh*t.
Sending sunshine and rainbows your way! Not that we have any here =(
Rain shots can be cute though--umbrellas =]
@trailmix: Thank GOD I am not the only one. I wake up this morning (super-early to fix stupid seating charts) and the first thing my mom says is "the TV says rain all day tomorrow. Better figure out a backup plan." THANKS MOM. Ugh.
My sister and I will be in "Jimmy Buffett" mode today. Last year we waited all year to go to this Jimmy Buffett concert. The forecast said torrential rainstorms, lightning, hail, the whole thing. We went anyway. It never rained. Forecasts are weird.
@EJS: I think we'll be making an emergency Target run tomorrow am for some cute umbrellas. I'm just worried about the ground being wet and my dress getting all messed up.
First, take a BIG deep breath! :)
Second, I would call your photographer and see if they know the area and any places inside that are great for taking photos. Mine has been so sweet about cutting the stress and coming up with alternative locations for us just incase.
Third, BREATH again - and know that you have no control over the rain, so why worry about it? :) You'll be fine, and who knows - you could wake up to sunshine and no clouds in the sky!
Another suggestion - buy cute rainboots to wear! :) I'm bringing my pair as a backup next weekend just incase for outdoor photos!
Pick up some wellies if you want, just for fun. This way if an area is particularly wet, it'll look cute? =\
Maybe you can bring some props to stand on which would also be stylish
It rained at a friend of mine's wedding--go through my FB album--the one with us wearing green dresses. THe biggest problem with the rain was it hit the bottom of our BM dresses (plus we had TRAINS) and the watermarks traveled up to our knees which is really obvious in photos. Seriously it rained her whole wedding day though save for, maybe, 20 minutes.
Ugh! That totally sucks!! I am sorry. Fortunately the weather folks have difficulty predicting what's going to happen in an hour, so you can definitely relax a little. haha.
About the pics/back-up. What about a museum with interesting architecture? That was my photographer's suggestion.
hotchild: i'm sure it will work out.
Maybe you'll get sun for your pictures. I'm worried about the same thing, so I've looked into inspiration. Hopefully this will make you feel better too!

Agree with Ella. Go out and buy yourself a beautiful umbrella today. I bought one that has one of my wedding flowers all over it just in case it was raining and I had to get out of the car and walk to the church in the rain or take some pictures because there was no way I was going to have done all that work to be spiffed up and then have a yucky umbrella take the stage.
Best wishes for tomorrow whether rain or sun.
I totally love all of those pictures with the umbrellas!, but Albany has several great covered locations for great photos. How about downtown at the Captital steps outside or inside if possible on that beautiful million dollar staircase. I don't know hours of operation but know they are open 7 days a week, call visitor assistances, 474-2418.
Ummm I'm secretly praying for rain on our wedding because I love rain shots SO much and I bought the cutest pair of Burberry rainboots and matching umbrella with little hearts all over them and I need to justify the purchase ;)
It's going to be beautiful no matter what hon. At the end of it all, rain or not, you're going to be married to the man you love and not care about a little bit of mud on your train. You're going to be great!!!
It probably won't rain all day, but if it does those umbrella shots posted above for inspiration are incredible. It will be fabulous no matter what!
And bear in mind, if it's not actively raining, that an overcast day is the absolute most flattering lighting for photographs! MUCH better than bright sunshine.

Of course, all the planning in the world could not change the fact that it's supposed to rain all day tomorrow. Our ceremony is outside (we have a backup, but whatever) and all of our pictures are outside. I have no backup place to take pictures, and I just don't know if there is one.
I know I shouldn't panic, but I just can't believe this is happening :o(
