I got in the mail on Saturday a gift card to one of the store’s we are registered at from a co-worker I don’t talk to her or see that often. It was a random and lovely surprise.
I think that a work shower is being organized for me, given that someone else from work bought something from my registry over the weekend (thank you, thank you manager) and someone else made a comment about May 3 making me think the shower will be then.
Now, I wonder if my co-worker meant for this gift card to be sent to her house so she could bring it to the work shower, rather than have it sent to my house over a month in advance of the shower. Of course, I don’t want to seem like I know about the work shower, but how else would she have gotten my registry information and randomly decided to send me something now unless an invitation already went out to work people with my registry information.
Should I send the co-worker in question a thank you card now, and say something like, what a sweet surprise? I assume I shouldn’t act like I think it was a mistake that it came to me directly. How should I handle?
