I love that song, cheese be darned! 
I have a version by Celia Cruz (mine is from the Mambo Kings soundtrack, but I think it's probably on several of her albums) on my morning bus ride playlist. She's a gal, but I like her version. I'm sure there are some instrumental versions with just a Spanish guitar on iTunes too, if that might reduce the cheese-factor?
Thanks Wee Spud, she has a great voice. That's probably the best I've heard so far.
I guess what I'm looking for is a bit more folksy version, as opposed to big band. But if I don't find anything else, this is at the top.

I love the 60's, so I've always dug this version by Manuela. It's a bit cheesy, but in a good way, I think.

Does anyone know of a good recording of Guantanamera that isn't super cheesy?
FI and I would like to dance to this song (not first dance, but it should be at our wedding). We've traveled a lot in Spanish-speaking countries, and always dance to this song, and it has separate and special meanings to us both.
But I've only danced to it live or sung to it with a guitarist backing up. And, man, most recordings are crazy cheesy. And, Pete Seeger? No way.
Any suggestions appreciated!
